Tai Chi is for any
one - regardless of age and physical ability - who is interested in improving
flexibility, posture, coordination, balance, breathing, flexibility, strength,
energy levels, concentration and sense of peace. Developed in China thousands
of years ago, it is the source of many of our complementary therapies, and
is recognised by the World Health Organisation as significantly beneficial
in the treatment and management of many chronic health conditions such as
arthritis, fibromyalgia and multiple schlerosis. The sessions, led by Tony
Bennett, will focus on fitness and wellbeing, using gentle, undemanding
standing and moving exercises focused on posture and breathing. Please contact
us on 62672.
Cafe IN
Every Wednesday,
11am - 1.30pm
A welcomINg place
to come for: INformation, INternet access; a drop IN, meetINg friends; registering
INterest, sharINg transport to outings - not to mention a place to come
and enjoy delicious homemade cakes and cookies. Our aim is to make the Cafe
IN a central point to find out what's on in the local area, and to facilitate
transport. If there is something that you would like to do - and we get
enough people registering an interest - we will try and set it up locally.
So if you fancy doing something new but don't know what's on or where, or
just want a great coffee/cuppa in a friendly, relaxing space then do pop
in and see what's on offer - everyone is very welcome.
Songs to Remember
Tuesday afternoon,
fortnightly, 2.30 - 4pm Dec 16th
An informal singing
group on alternate Tuesday afternoons, open to all ages/abilities/volumes,
which will have a specific focus on songs from the past. The group is open
to anyone who would like to come along, but we particularly welcome those
with memory loss and their carers (although carers will be able to have
a cup of tea and natter in the adjoining room if they prefer). The sessions
promise to be an uplifting and enjoyable opportunity for all so please get
in touch if you (or someone you care for) are interested in attending. Or
better still, come along to the Cafe IN and find out more about it there
